Thanks to the support of Brisbane City Council, koalas can once again be seen in Pooh Corner Bushland Reserve. These koalas are regularly tracked by members of the Pooh Corner Environment Centre and researchers from The University of Queensland. Each koala has a solar-powered GPS (Global Positioning System) tracking unit that informs the team of their location every day.

If you go for a walk in Pooh Corner Bushland Reserve, you will now encounter trees with many scratches, as the koalas start to use their favoured trees over time.

The koalas have now been in the reserve for over 12 months, and we recently captured and tagged our first joey in the program - a sign of successful breeding. All photos by Ed Parker.
